In the Faculty of Health Sciences, Curtin holds top-100 rankings for sports-related subjects and nursing [3]. Curtin’s Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is the only direct-entry undergraduate medicine degree in Western Australia.

A history of innovation
Curtin’s emphasis on innovation originates with its foundation as the Western Australian Institute of Technology, which became Curtin University almost 40 years ago.
Curtin has dedicated workshops for students and staff to develop their entrepreneurial ideas, and, in 2024, launched the Bachelor of Innovation for students who aspire to develop novel businesses and products or services.
A vibrant campus life
Curtin’s main campus, Curtin Perth, is attractive and vibrant, close to the shopping and cuisine precinct of Victoria Park and the scenic Canning River Regional Park. Market days, live music, multicultural celebrations and the Guild Ball are some examples of popular on-campus events.
Support services for students
Curtin prioritises student wellbeing and provides on-campus health services, including medical services and a Student Wellbeing Advisory team. Curtin also helps students move to university study with mentoring, peer-to-peer tutoring and free study support.
On-campus accommodation
Curtin Perth has six on-campus accommodation options provided by St Catherine’s and UniLodge. All are in walking distance of the centre of campus, the Curtin stadium recreation centre, public transport, various food outlets and a local shopping precinct.
