Our campuses and facilities

Our iconic Quadrangle might be what springs to mind when you think of the University, but we have a network of campuses in Sydney and beyond – from working farms, to a research field station on the Great Barrier Reef and many more – our teachers, researchers and students are based in locations all over Australia.

Our main Camperdown/Darlington campus is just 10 minutes away from the heart of Sydney, Australia’s largest and most international city, and is surrounded by its shops, cafes, restaurants and inner west cultural hubs, as well as being close to its world-famous ocean beaches.

Our iconic heritage-listed sandstone buildings share the campus with state-of-the-art teaching, research and student support facilities. We opened our brand-new Chau Chak Wing Museum to the public in 2020. The purpose-built, multi-level museum is at the centre of arts and culture on campus and showcases thousands of the University’s precious and rare collections of art, ancient history, science and cultural materials for the first time. The museum is open to the broader public with free entry.

Some of our faculties and schools have dedicated campuses, such as the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, near the Sydney Opera House, and the Sydney Dental School in Surry Hills. We also have several other facilities in locations across the state, from research units and farms at our Camden campus to clinical schools in hospitals located across the city and state of New South Wales.

We continue to transform facilities for generations of students and invest in world-class infrastructure, including the Sydney Nanoscience Hub, the brand-new Engineering and Technology Precinct and Susan Wakil Health Building. Our purpose-built facilities bring together students and staff from multiple disciplines and place them at the forefront of innovation, learning and research.
