Chris Clifton

Graduated from the University of Queensland in 2010, with a Graduate Diploma in Environmental Management

“I am currently working as a team leader with Conservation Volunteers Australia. I live in Newcastle, New South Wales and my work takes me around the Hunter Valley Wine Region and beyond. I am responsible for managing on-ground conservation projects and a team of professional restoration ecologists. Currently, I’m implementing weed management and revegetation programs for the Lower & Upper Hunter Stepping Stones Project; which is part of the Great Eastern Rangers Initiative to improve habitat connectivity at a landscape scale across New South Wales.

“My post-graduate degree gave me the theoretical knowledge and skills vital for managing the complex ecological systems present in Australia. No doubt the challenges we are faced with in Australian contexts offer a great foundational knowledge for global conservation efforts.”
