Our campuses and facilities
Our iconic Quadrangle might be what springs to mind when you think of the University of Sydney, but we also have working farms, a field station on the Great Barrier Reef and many more. Our teachers, researchers and students are based all over Australia. Our main Camperdown/Darlington campus is only 10 minutes from the centre of Sydney and is surrounded by shops, cafes, restaurants and the inner west cultural hubs of the city. It is also close to Sydney’s world-famous ocean beaches.
Our iconic heritage-listed sandstone buildings share the campus with state-of-the-art teaching, research and student support facilities. We continue to transform facilities for generations of students and to invest in world-class infrastructure, including the Sydney Nanoscience Hub, the brand-new Engineering and Technology Precinct and Susan Wakil Health Building. Our purpose-built facilities bring together students and staff from multiple disciplines and place them at the forefront of innovation, learning and research.
Some of our faculties and schools have dedicated campuses, including the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, near the Sydney Opera House, and the Sydney Dental School in Surry Hills. We also have several other facilities across the state from research units and farms at our Camden campus to clinical schools in hospitals across the city and state of New South Wales.
Real-world projects and internships
We offer a range of opportunities to work on real-life projects with leading industry partners throughout your studies. Most of our degrees offer embedded or elective placements and internships that range in duration from two weeks to a full year. Each hands-on programme is tailored to your area of study and will enhance your employability.
