Te Herenga Waka: A university with a Māori identity

 

Victoria University of Wellington is proud of the name Te Herenga Waka, which reflects its deep connection to indigenous Māori culture and heritage. The name, meaning ‘the mooring place of canoes,’ symbolises the University as a place where people from many backgrounds come together to learn, grow, and contribute.
