Student Stories
Julia Ingram
Julia is studying the Master of Tourism, Event and Hotel Management at the University of Queensland.
“I graduated from the University of Surrey back in 2005, so embarking on a masters, aged 36, in Australia, was a scary but exciting move. However, it was the best decision I ever made, and I have not looked back. The University of Queensland is beautiful. The campus is stunning, and I continue to feel lucky every time I am strolling through the grounds.
“Getting back into the academic world as mature student has had its challenges, but there is always someone to ask about anything and everything, and one of the things about Australia is that everyone is super-friendly. This course is great for anyone with a passion for the industry, and you will find yourself surrounded by international students. The quality of the professors and their teaching is fantastic, and the University’s world top 50 rating in this subject is well deserved.
“Brisbane is a wonderful place to live, a friendly and livable city that always has a great vibe. I came here with my husband and it already feels like home to both of us. There are so many amazing places still to explore!
“If you are considering a move, my advice would be…. Make it happen!”
